Mechanical introduction

In 1982, there was a strip of single-face weft-knitted two-color jacquard silk fabrics unearthed at the Mashan Warring States Tomb in Jiangling, China. It is the earliest hand-knitted fabric that has been discovered so far, about 2,200 years ago. According to this artifact, it can be inferred that the origin of Chinese hand-knitted is even earlier. Machine knitting began in 1589, and the British W. Lee created the first hand knitting machine from the hand weaving. It has more than 3,500 parts, the crochets are arranged in rows, and 16 coils can be woven at a time. China's first sweatshirt knitting factory was founded in Shanghai in 1896. China's first hosiery factory was established in Guangzhou in 1907.
According to different process characteristics, knitting production is divided into two categories: weft knitting and warp knitting. In the production of weft knitting, the yarn can be directly produced on the machine after the raw material is passed through the winding. Each of the yarns is sequentially placed in the weft direction on each of the knitting needles of the weft knitting machine to form a weft knitted fabric. In the warp knitting production, the raw materials are subjected to winding and warping, and the yarns are wound in parallel to form a warp beam, and then produced on the machine. The yarn is retracted from the warp beam, and each of the yarns is placed on one or at most two knitting needles of the warp knitting machine in the longitudinal direction to form a warp knit.
There are also methods for combining weft knitting and warp knitting on some knitting machines. At this time, two sets of yarns are arranged on the knitting machine, one set is padded according to the warp knitting method, and the other set is laid by the weft knitting method, and the knitting needles form the stitches together to form a knitted fabric. The stitches formed by the same yarn are arranged along the weft direction in the weft knitted fabric, and in the warp knitted fabric along the warp direction.
